Early Learning Center

The Independent School was founded by Mrs. Jean Garvey, in 1980. Soon after the first buildings at the current campus were constructed. Over the years the school has expanded to include classes from preschool through the 12th grade. Mrs. Garvey has since passed away and passed along her home located on school property to the school. It was determined that the best use of the home would be as a daycare for infants to preschool aged children and so began the Early Learning Center

The single story ranch style home includes a walk-out basement overlooking a meadow. The new facility houses infant and toddler classrooms, offices, a kitchen and an Exploration room on the main floor. The lower floor features an indoor play area along with classrooms for the three-year olds. The main floor classes have expansive views of the meadow beyond through a wall almost entirely made of windows. A key feature, mentioned above, is the Exploration Room. This room will be a classroom shared by all students in the facility for hands on experiences and experiments to enhance their learning experiences.
